Like in this image, weathered concrete, narrow streets and overwhelming vegetation are very typical for villages on these islands. As you can see, the rooftops are not just laid from tiles, but the tiles are instead tied to a concrete base.
Just couple of weeks after taking this image a class 3 typhoon passed right over this spot - it indeed pays off to keep everything outdoors laid into heavy amounts of concrete.
